Sheriff Reserves Hold Annual Fundraiser

Golf Scramble Teams Preparing to Start

The 2016 Annual Jackson County Sheriff Reserve Deputy Golf Outing was held Saturday September 17th at Hickory Hills Golf Course. We would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who donated money and / or door prizes for this year’s fundraiser. We also appreciate the dedicated group of golfers who have participated in the event for many years.

Because of your generous support, each Reserve Deputy is provided with the same tools as a full-time paid Deputy, which includes uniforms, body cameras, bullet proof vests, A.E.D’s and other equipment.

The program consists of volunteers who give of their time each week to patrol the County and help keep us safe. They wear the same uniform and take the same risks as a paid Deputy. Reserve Deputies are required to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Pre-Basic Academy, and they must also maintain the same annual training of a full-time paid Deputy, which includes firearms, physical tactics, and many other categories as required by State Statute.

We also wish to thank the families of Reserve Deputies. Without family support it would be difficult to volunteer so much of their time to help keep their fellow citizens safe. It takes a significant amount of money to equip just one Deputy, and without this event the cost would come out of their own pockets.

So, again, THANK YOU for supporting us as we continue the good fight!
