Amanda D. Spencer 

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department received an anonymous tip through the jail website (www.jacksoncountysheriffin.org) that Amanda D. Spencer, 35, of North Vernon was hiding in a Laurel Street residence in Seymour. Spencer was wanted on a Bartholomew County, Indiana warrant for Failure to Appear for a petition to revoke her probation. Her original charge in that County is Dealing in Cocaine.

The anonymous tip was passed on to Seymour Police dispatch who sent officers to the residence, where Spencer was located and arrested. At the time of the arrest, Spencer pretended to be her sister, which resulted in a local charge of Providing False Identity to Police.

Numerous arrests have been made using information received through the website since it was created several months ago. Sheriff Carothers encourages the public to utilize this service to help keep our communities safe. You never have to provide your name when submitting tips.
