A former Seymour Middle School teacher was sentenced to 27 years in prison (with 6 years suspended to supervised probation) in Jackson Circuit Court.

Aaron D. Murray, 41, of Seymour, received that sentence today from Jackson Circuit Court Judge Richard W. Poynter. Murray was convicted on three counts of child molesting, all are Level four felonies. The maximum prison sentence Murray could have received is 36 years.

Murray was initially arrested in July of 2015, released on bond, and then arrested again in November of 2015 for violating the terms of his probation. Murray will be transferred to the Indiana Department of Correction to finish serving his sentence.
