Burglary and Theft Solved

Burglary and Theft of a 2006 Polaris 500 ATV

On Monday (March 21) the Jackson County Sheriff received a report of a burglary and theft of a 2006 Polaris 500 ATV from a garage at 5500 S CR 825 W Medora, IN.

Reserve Deputy Kevin Settle responded to the initial report. Later that evening witnesses in the area reported seeing a male subject riding the stolen ATV.

On Friday (March 25) Deputy Jeff Walters located and recovered the stolen
Polaris ATV undamaged in the 6000 Block West of CR 275 N. in Brownstown Township.

That afternoon in Medora, Deputies Jeff Walters and Rick Meyer arrested Austin T. Brewster, 20, on a Jackson Circuit Court warrant for Failure to Appear. Brewster was also a suspect in the burglary and theft of the ATV. During an interview by Deputy Walters, Brewster confessed to the burglary and theft. Additional charges of burglary (level 5 felony) and theft (level 6 felony) were then filed against Brewter.

JCSD Lt. Darin Downs also assisted Settle, Meyer and Walters.
